Local Area

Bere Regis is located in Dorset, the gateway to the West Country, and as such there is a huge amount to do right on our doorstep or further afield. We are ideally located for visiting Hardyes Wessex, indeed our church, St John the Baptist has the tomb of the Turberville family which were the inspiration for Thomas Hardy’s ‘Tess of the D’Urbervilles’. We are also well located for Monkey Worldand the Tank Museum, as well as the Swanage Railway and Farmer Palmers for outings with children. If you’re looking for an energetic stay either on foot or bicycle, we have the wonderful Jurassic Coast to explore and the Purbeck Hills to investigate just minutes from our B&B in Bere Regis.
